so today is the first day of my new adventure in living. gainful unemployment...and i've worked hard to get here. lol.

i went to the ghanaian embassy this morning and dropped off my passport for the visa. there was a guy there getting visas for peace corps volunteers and i learned that ghana was the first country that had the peace corps. did you know that? well, now you do. ;-)

i am now sitting in a cybercafe in silver spring, md. the sun is shining and the sky is a bright, brilliant blue, randomly splotched with lovely white cirrus clouds. as the day goes on, i am liking this more and more. the joy is deepening, the excitement growing regarding the future.
